The Office of Graduate Student Life is currently in the process of recruiting graduate students to participate in our 5th Annual Grad Talks event in April! Check out the info below, and we hope you consider applying!
Description: Inspired by TED Talks and sponsored by the Office of Graduate Student Life and the Graduate Student Association, this colloquium features eight graduate students from any discipline at Boston College. Selected speakers present a talk between seven and ten minutes in length on a particular topic about which they are passionate, whether it be academic research, an experience abroad, a lesson learned through a life event, or anything else! The winning presenter, as selected by a panel of University judges, will receive a $500 honorarium. The 5th annual Grad Talks will take place Friday, April 21st at 4 pm in the O’Neill Library main floor reading room. For examples of talks, the winning talk from last year can be found here.
Deadline: Grad Talks applications are due Sunday, February 12th by noon.

Are you looking for a way to fill your community service hours? The INK program is looking for Graduate Students to participate in the spring semester session. The program is run by Geoffrey Kramer (firstname.lastname@example.org), Pete Harrington (email@example.com), and Ray Lilly (firstname.lastname@example.org), and we would love to have you join us this semester.
For those of who haven’t heard of us, INK stands for “Invest ‘N Kids“. INK is a tutoring program for local 7th and 8th grade students from the surrounding area. We meet on Thursdays from 4-6pm in the Eagle’s Nest (the 2nd floor dining hall above the bookstore). Our grad student tutors are paired up with the visiting 7th and 8th graders for a 2 hour session that includes getting to know one another, helping with homework, fun group projects, and dinner at the end of each session.
